I’m Alishea and I have tried to bury myself in creative experiences. From cake decorating and window painting to designing websites and animating 3D shorts, I have seized opportunities as they’ve presented themselves and created them when they haven’t.
As a student, I composed my own eclectic education. I’ve taken illustration courses from one community college and storyboarding and 3D animation courses from another. I began teaching myself character design and visual development by following the blog of John Kricfalusi and studying the inspirational works of Mary Blair, Tim Burton, Milt Kahl and countless others. Presently, I am studying visual development with Armand Baltazar at Animation Collaborative in Emeryville, Ca—it’s incredible.
I am wrapping up the last year at the University of California, Berkeley. Due to the lack of a formalized program, I have forged my own path and combined art and computer science—a path now so popular that next semester I will be teaching a student-run course, “The Art of Animation.” Lastly, I am fortunate to be working on a collaborative 3D animated short titled, Horse Power, with ten other talented students.
I can’t wait to meet everyone at CTNX. See you there!
