Armand Baltazar Senior Designer
CTN is proud to include this extremely talented Designer to the show this year. Armand S. Baltazar will be sharing his talent on the exhibit floor and in a round table discussion and conversation. He will be on site all weekend long.
Armand S. Baltazar was born 1967 in Chicago’s North Side, not far from the famed Wrigley Field. Always keen on drawing and painting at an early age, his parents encouraged his talents with trips to the Art Institute of Chicago. His quest to grow as an artist led him to California to attend the Art Center College of Design. Here he would discover a passion for narrative illustration and design, or to put simply story telling with pictures. This love for vsisual storytelling would lead him into film.
Armand began his film career with DreamWorks SKG Animation as a Background Painter and Visual Development Artist, then later with Walt Disney Feature Animation and Image Movers Digital. Currently he calls Northern California his home and is a Senior Designer for Pixar Animation Studios.
Armand works in both film and fine art, exhibiting in and around Los Angeles and San Francisco. He occasionally teaches and speaks at universities around the country.
Credits Include: The Prince of Egypt, The Road to Eldorado, Spirit Stallion of the Cimmaron, Sinbad, Shark Tale, Flushed Away, The Bee Movie, Princess and the Frog, A Christmas Carol, and Cars 2 and Brave.
When asked: “What is the most important quality for someone wanting to work in this profession?” Armand answers “Dedication and hard work is essential. Having drive to get to your goals and humility helps you understand that the journey of learning and getting better is a never ending quest!” ~Armand Baltazar
