Axel Ortiz

Axel was born and raised in the greater Los Angeles area. He attended the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena and has been working professionally in all aspects of the entertainment industry from animation to live action to video games to theme park design for 15 plus years. He has worked with several companies and projects in, Sony Pictures Animation, Nickelodeon, Bento Box Entertainment, Midway Entertainment, ICON Motosports, Image Comics, Animax Entertainment, Sony Computer Entertainment, THQ Inc., NBC.com, Creature Effects, Disney TV, Disney Parks, Nick TV, Syfi Channel, Hasbro, Activision, Image Comics, Universal Studios, Edge FX, Metamoki, Ubi-Soft, Chiodo Bros., Creative Characters and many others.

He taught the Character Design class for 5 year at Gnomon School of Visual Effects in Hollywood. He had work displayed in galleries like Petra Gallerie, Gnomon Gallery and the Hold Up Gallery all in Los Angeles. Also did a group book signing at La Luz de Jesus Gallery as well. Axel had been featured in Sketch Theatre‘s web site, with many other fine artists and designers.

Currently, working on projects with Rethink Attractions and Dig Deep Entertainment with Digger Mesch plus side contract projects for his clients. Axel is represented by, Talent Management Arsenal Media in Los Angeles and Essential Sequential in the New York area.
He is a member of the Motion Picture Screen Cartoonists, Local 839. He always has a sketchbook at hand to do a doodle when he is out and about.
