DigiCel is the leading provider of 2D animation software to professional animators and students because FlipBook does what animators want better than any other program.

FlipBook is the only 2D animation software that is designed entirely from the ground up to do 2D animation the way professional animators are used to doing it. That’s why the professional animators at every major animation studio and the teachers at the best animation schools demand FlipBook. Other programs may be alright if all you want to do is ink & paint but animators use FlipBook

DigiCel FlipBook lets you draw right on the computer with your mouse or tablet. Or you can draw on paper, like the pros, and shoot your rough drawings under a camera for speed and then scan your cleaned-up drawings for quality. FlipBook will keep track of all your drawings in its traditional exposure sheet with thumbnail images and play them back instantly with sound. FlipBook also provides specially designed tools to help you paint your drawings quickly and easily without having to learn or go through a lot of difficult steps. You can add pans, zooms, rotation, blurs and dissolves and then export movies that you can play on TV or post on the internet.

Sony Pictures Animation exemplifies the next generation of CGI storytelling to produce a variety of animated entertainment for audiences around the world.

Gnomon School of Visual Effects is an innovative training facility that stresses the importance of creativity in computer graphics.

We believe, that while technology offers new tools to create your visions, it is our ultimate goal to allow you to interact transparently with the software. At Gnomon, we know that it is not the technology that drives results, but the artist. Therfore, our instructors are industry professionals with traditional backgrounds who started using the technology to bring their imaginations to life.

Founded by Alex Alvarez in 1997, Gnomon is located in the heart of Hollywood and offers a full curriculum for careers in 3D, professionals in need of specialized training, custom training for production studios and online courses. In conjunction with several major studios across Los Angeles, our instructors and our esteemed Advisory Board, Gnomon’s curriculum and facilities have been designed to constantly evolve to reflect any new demands that may arise from the entertainment industry.

Gnomon’s entire curriculum has been developed, tested and is taught by some of the most recognized CG professionals working in the industry. At no other school are the Directors, Advisory Board members and instructors more involved in the production process. They work and consult for studios such as DreamWorks, Sony Pictures Imageworks, Sony Interactive, Digital Domain, Electronic Arts, Activision, Rock Star Games, and Blizzard, just to name a few.

Real professionals. Real projects.

Gnomon’s goal has always been to create an educational environment unlike any other – to pioneer a more effective way to prepare students and professionals for their career in the computer graphics entertainment industry – to provide a real education.

Gnomon’s instructor’s are working professionals who bring their passion and experience to the classroom. They know the importance of understanding how the real world operates and what a production pipeline looks like, to ensure our curriculum at Gnomon is always moving in tandem with the industry – wherever it might be headed.

Our curriculum resembles this structure by taking our students through completion of collaborative and in-class projects. At Gnomon, students complete these projects, which is key in securing employment after graduation. Gnomom students are able to take their projects from the smallest element of an idea to fully formed reality; all using similar methods and workflow used everyday in the entertainment industry. This is the work our students will take with them after graduation, and use to impress a future employer.

Aniboom is the first virtual animation studio in the world, bridging the gap between the global community of independent animators and the professional animation industry in all its forms: cinema, television, web, mobile, music videos, digital gaming, and advertising.

Since its founding in 1996 by CEO Uri Shinar, a former television executive with decades of broadcasting experience, Aniboom has grown its community to over 7,000 animators from 72 countries around the world. These independent animators have the same talent, the same passion and the same skill sets as those working in Hollywood. They are capable of producing content of the same high quality, without relocation. Aniboom demonstrates daily that in the 21st century, people need not occupy the same physical space to produce creative and high quality animation. Having already worked with leading entertainment companies such as FOX, The HISTORY Channel, and Marvel Entertainment, Aniboom just announced it is teaming up with major advertising firm MRM Worldwide to help connect MRM clients with independent top-quality animators. Aniboom’s Virtual Studio continues connecting talented and imaginative animators from across the world with major clients looking to Aniboom for innovative and inspired animation.

Renegade Animation was founded in 1992 with the aim of producing outstanding animation, providing exceptional service and fostering a supportive and creative environment for its employees. The studio made its initial splash in commercial animation and one of its first projects, the Nike Superbowl spot “Aerospace Jordan” was one of the most successful commercials of all time. Since then, Renegade has extended its reach into episodic television, feature films, interactive games and DVDs as well as web and mobile content. A pioneer in animation for the internet, Renegade won an Annie Award in 2001 for its Web series “Elmo Aardvark: Outer Space Detective.” The following year, it made its first foray into television series production with “Captain Sturdy” for Cartoon Network. It also produced the acclaimed series “The Hi Hi Puffy Ami Yumi Show,” which ran on Cartoon Network for three seasons. The studio undertook its most ambitious project to date in 2006, teaming with Easy to Dream Entertainment, to produce “Christmas Is Here Again,” a full-length animated film featuring the voices of Ed Asner, Kathy Bates, Brad Garrett, Andy Griffith, Shirley Jones, Jay Leno and Daniel Roebuck. The studio recently finished producing the second season of “The Mr. Men Show” which debuted on Cartoon Network and around the world in February 2008. Currently, Renegade is selling its new animated series “Funny Face” based on the popular 1960s sugar-free soft drink characters.

DARRELL VAN CITTERS is a nationally renowned animation director and leader of Renegade’s creative team. Darrell trained at Cal Arts and got his start at Disney where he earned his first directing credit on the experimental short “Fun with Mr. Future” and developed the feature, “Who Framed Roger Rabbit?” He later joined Warner Bros. Classic Animation where he directed animated commercials and short films with the Looney Tunes characters, including the first theatrical Bugs Bunny short in 27 years, “Box Office Bunny”. Along with his business partner, Ashley Postlewaite, he founded Renegade Animation in 1992. Darrell oversees all of Renegade’s film, television and commercial projects and served as co-executive producer and animation director of “Christmas Is Here Again,” Renegade’s first animated feature. Some of his other credits include “Captain Sturdy,” the award-winning Internet series “Elmo Aardvark: Outer Space Detective” and dozens of television commercials for internationally known brands. Darrell also has a passion for animation and its history, and has just written and published a book on the making of the very first animated Christmas special, “Mr. Magoo’s Christmas Carol,” currently available at mrmagooschristmascarol.com.

ASHLEY POSTLEWAITE is a graduate of Stanford University and began her career in the glamorous world of children’s theater. She got her start in animation with Warner Bros. Classic Animation and in 1992, joined Darrell Van Citters in founding Renegade Animation. Ashley has produced animation for feature films, television, commercials, DVDs and a variety of new media applications and serves as Executive Producer for all of Renegade’s output. She is also a past board member and president of the Young Entrepreneurs Organization, an international association of business leaders who have achieved success at a young age.

Mobile Motion provides complete end to end motion capture systems that include rental, sales, and support. Whether you are capturing the body, face, hands, or everything at the same time, we can build and integrate a custom system for your specific production. We deal with optical based systems, inertial based systems, Active-LED systems, and now we have a system that is completely marker-less and suit-less, requiring almost no prep time. In the realm of motion capture, there is no one system that can accommodate the vast requirements of animation, film, video games, medical science, the list goes on and on. Some systems require a stage, some systems have magnetic interference, some systems even limit the range of motion performed by the subject or talent, systems can also be single or multi-person capture based; this is why we provide a custom solution! For actors, directors, animators, game developers, PreViz, etc, their pipeline is shortened, time and money is saved, and focus can be directed to the quality of the overall production.

After three and a half years, we moved one block east to a much larger and more dynamic space. Still in the heart of quaint downtown Alhambra, we re-opened in March of 2008 with over 2000 square feet of open gallery space, 1000 square feet of shop/boutique, and over 3000 square feet of studio/production space.
