Visual development Artist for Themeparks and Animation
Edwin Rhemrev is a Dutch visual development artist, currently active in the field of themeparks and feature animation.
He's been a creative professional for over 8 years now; he started out in the games industry, where he worked for over 5 years as a (Lead) Concept Artist on the critically acclaimed XBOX360/PS3 games 'Overlord' and 'Overlord 2'
To expand his horizon, he went freelance in 2011. These past 3 years he's been fortunate enough to work as a visdev artist / set designer on various projects in the field of themeparks and feature animation.
Feature Animation Design
In 2012 and 2013 he spent most of his time working at Anikey Studios, designing the sets and backgrounds for the the Dutch 2D feature animation 'Tripple Trouble'. Film is currently in theatres across the country in The Netherlands, Belgium and France.
In 2014 he continued his setdesign work on 2 other feature film productions, currently in pre-production at Nwave Digital and Comet Film respectively.
Another area he's been highly active in is the imaginative world of themeparks and other themed environments. Edwin has worked on a wide range of European and Asian themeparks, specializing in developing immersive themed environments, by doing storyboards, ride and area impressions and bird eye views.
For the 3rd year now, Edwin is attending CTN with his wife Fleur and good friends and collegues Edwin van Beek, Wouter Tulp and David de Rooij. Be sure to swing by the booth (B39) and say hi!
