Lisa Kaye works as a strategic business leader for top companies in the digital media, cable, broadcast, animation and entertainment space for over 20 years. Having launched a successful online recruitment company, www.greenlightjobs.com in 2002, Kaye offers her expertise in the areas of human resource and business consulting services to her A list of clients some of which include, Pixar, Live Nation, House of Blues, Stone Canyon Entertainment, G4 Media, Teletech, Scripps Networks and Disney/ABC, Inc.
In September 2002, Kaye founded greenlightjobs, an online recruitment career service that matches candidates and employers through a sophisticated and proprietary skills matching system. Prior to the launch of greenlightjobs, Kaye held the post of Senior Vice President, Human Resources for E! Networks, now part of Comcast Entertainment Group and served as part of the Operating Committee and assisted with organizational change management. In her role at E!, Kaye was responsible for implementing and directing key “best practices” initiatives for the company including re-engineering of its senior management team. While at E!, Kaye was responsible for assisting with the staffing and organizational development of E! Online, and assisted with the strategic launch of the style network.
Kaye is an expert in the field of career building and jobs, and speaks at various business and industry functions, including Comic-Con, Woman in Animation, Annecy Film Festival, CTHRA Symposia, Otis College of Design, Art Institute, on the topic of careers and jobs for people looking to break into the entertainment and media business as well as helping seasoned professionals through career transition.

Kim Mackey currently serves as DreamWorks’ Head of Recruiting, having occupied that position since February 2009. In her present role, Mackey manages full scope recruitment of all artistic, technical and overhead positions at the studio. Her additional responsibilities include: developing and implementing cost-efficient staffing strategies, which support DreamWorks Animation’s business objectives; analyzing staffing projections and priorities; supervising the departmental team; and managing the recruiting budget.
Kim started at the studio in March 1995, as an assistant in the animation technology division. She went on to work in various production capacities on five DreamWorks’ titles: production coordinator for “The Prince of Egypt”; manager of “Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas” and the DVD release of “Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron”; and production supervisor for the feature releases “Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron,” “Shark Tale,” and “Flushed Away.” She then segued from production to recruiting, stepping into the position of Senior Recruiting Manager in August 2005 and serving as manager until her elevation to department head in 2009.
Mackey graduated with distinction from Boston University, where she received her Bachelor of Science in broadcasting and film, with a concentration in psychology.
Panelist: Josilin Torrano
Josilin Torrano graduated Summa Cum Laude from UCLA with a BA in Mass Communication. During her last semester at UCLA she interned in the Recruiting/College Relations department at Nickelodeon Animation Studios and fell in love with animation and recruiting. Josilin was fortunate enough after graduation to be offered the job as recruiter for Nick Animation Studios and was even given the opportunity to co-run the internship program that changed her life.
Josilin is responsible for staffing all union and non-union production based jobs at her studio. She also co-runs the animation studio’s college and high school internship programs.
