New Talent
Katrina Carras
Katrina Carras truly loves storytelling and animation, and she will be graduating with a BFA in Animation this spring from Laguna College of Art & Design (LCAD) in Laguna Beach, California, the same town where she was born and raised. She has interned at local IMAX production studio MacGillivray Freeman Films for the last two summers, where she has co-directed a short film promoting awareness for World’s Oceans Day. In a master class studying under Eric Goldberg, she has just finished production on the short film Attack of the 50 Foot Hero, a team project to take a film from concept to completed color in only twelve weeks. The film premiered at Walt Disney Animation Studios and will be entered into several animation festivals. She is working on her senior film Bedtime Story, a quick-paced, character-driven comedy about a father who wants to sleep, but his daughter won’t let him rest without a bedtime story. Shenanigans ensue, so stay tuned for its premiere! She loves all aspects of animation, but her greatest passions lie in story and background painting. When she isn’t working, she is wishing she worked as a monster in a haunted house or riding her bike while blaring the E.T. theme.
