Growing up in Glendale, CA with a father who worked in animation, Megan has always been surrounded by art. She was exposed to different styles of art and film which inspired her to follow her father’s path an become an artist herself. So, she moved to San Francisco where she graduated from the Academy of Art University in 2000. After a couple of years working on the production side of animation and creating art in her spare time, she decided to take a design class at the recently reformed Chouinard Foundation. Leo Monahan’s class on Design and Color Theory would change her life. Leo, a well known award winning, paper sculptor inspired Megan to take up the art of folding and cutting paper herself. She began showing in galleries almost immediately and hasn’t looked back since. Megan has gone on to create her own unique paper art for such distinguished clients as Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, Laika, Dreamworks and American Airlines. Most recently, she has completed several projects for Walt Disney Imagineering and continues to work on several others. She currently lives in the Los Angeles area with her husband, daughter, and two dogs.
