Michael Amos is a Character Designer and Animator based in Melbourne, Australia who has been working in the local and international animation industry for the past 14 years.
Michael has worked as a Character Artist and Designer for Disney Consumer Products developing original character art and style guides. He has also worked in new media developing online games and animation for Disney and Pixar films as well as clients including M&M’s, Touchstone Pictures and Coca-Cola.
Seven years ago, Michael co-founded an animation studio working for such clients as Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, Disney, and Passion Pictures. He has directed a number of animated shorts, including an Australian Aboriginal inspired film, which was featured and won numerous awards in festivals around the world including Annecy, Stuttgart and Ottawa.
Michael is also the co-creator of an original animated TV series currently in development starring Nancy Cartwright, the voice of Bart Simpson. A pilot has been completed along with an Xbox 360 game demo for this title.
Since then Michael has been working on his first children’s book and a sketchbook of his personal art. When not drawing, Michael enjoys spending his spare time with his wife and two dogs. He also enjoys skiing and is an avid fan of basketball and Formula 1.
