Gene Kozicki

A product of the so called “‘Star Wars’ generation”, Gene Kozicki has been interested in Visual and Special Effects since he saw that film as a kid.  Many a model kit met a sad fate with fireworks and lighter fluid as he tried to recreate the visuals he marveled at on the big screen.  Leaving the pyro to professionals, he studied Film and Television Production at U.S.C., graduating in 1990 and started to parlay his interest in figuring out how things are done into a career.  He has worked on “Terminator 2: Judgement Day”, various Star Trek series and films, “Titanic”, “Chronicles of Narnia”, and was on staff at Rhythm & Hues for more than a decade.  He co-chairs various committees for the Visual Effects Society and is active in the archiving of information, imagery, and artifacts from the visual effects industry.  He regularly consults with organizations such as the Academy and the American Cinematheque on retrospectives.  He also enjoys tracking down crew members from his favorite films, buying them lunch, and finding out what REALLY happened on the set……
