The Art of Hotel Transylvania Book Panel

Moderator Tracey Miller-Zarneke is a writer who most recently completed work on Titan Books’ THE ART AND MAKING OF HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA, based on Sony Pictures Animation’s monster comedy hit.

Tracey has long been fascinated with the world of animation, way beyond her credited roles on the feature films MEET THE ROBINSONS, CHICKEN LITTLE and THE EMPEROR’S NEW GROOVE. She has previously authored five books on the art of animation: THE ART OF MEET THE ROBINSONS, THE ART OF KUNG FU PANDA, THE ART AND MAKING OF CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF MEATBALLS, THE ART OF HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON and THE ART OF KUNG FU PANDA 2. She has also served as technical editor for the textbook, PRODUCING ANIMATION.

Tracey lives in Los Angeles and channels her creative energy into work as a writer and playtime with her two young sons. She is a graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles with a degree in English.

Marcelo Vignali is a Production Designer at Sony Pictures Animation where he recently completed work on the studio’s monster comedy hit, HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA.

Vignali began his career as a commercial artist in 1985 doing black and white illustrations for the Los Angeles Times Syndicate. In 1987, he joined the DIC Entertainment animation studio as a character designer. A few years later Marcelo was hired by Walt Disney Imagineering to help create Toontown, and Roger Rabbit’s Car-toon Spin ride, as well as a variety of other themed attractions.

By 1995, Vignali was back in animation working on Disney’s MULAN, EMPEROR’S NEW GROOVE, DINOSAURS, HOME ON THE RANGE, ATLANTIS, BROTHER BEAR and LILO AND STITCH.

In 2003 Vignali brought his talents to Sony Pictures Animation, and has since worked
on such films as OPEN SEASON, the Academy Award® nominated SURF’S UP,
and the mouth-watering CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF MEATBALLS.

During his career Vignali has continued working as a freelance illustrator; illustrating gaming cards for WIZARDS OF THE COAST and WORLD OF WARCRAFT. He has also worked as a drawing, and figure-drawing, instructor both in college and now at Sony Pictures Animation.

Vignali received his formal training as an illustration major at Otis Parsons School of Design.

Noëlle Triaureau is an Art Director and a Visual Development artist for Sony Pictures Animation where she most recently completed work on the monstrous box-office smash, HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA.

Since joining the creative team at Sony Pictures Animation in 2005, Triaureau has served as a Visual Development artist on SURF’S UP and CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF MEATBALLS. She is also a recipient of the Joule award, an honor recognizing outstanding Sony Pictures Imageworks and Sony Pictures Animation members.

Triaureau graduated in 1996 with honors from Middlesex University, England and Ecole de Commerce de Reims, France with a Bachelor of Art in European Business Management. In 1997, Triaureau helped start up L’Envol, a Summer camp for children with a serious illness modeled after Paul Newman’s Hole in the Wall Gang Camps. In 2004, she graduated from a four-year program at ENSAD, Paris, specializing in 3D animation.

Rebecca Sugar most recently served as storyboard artist on Sony Pictures Animation’s monster comedy hit, HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA.

Sugar started her career writing, storyboarding and composing songs for the animated television series ADVENTURE TIME. She’s currently working on her own show for the Cartoon Network, STEVEN UNIVERSE, which will air in 2013.

Sugar is a graduate of the School of Visual Arts with a BFA in animation.

Andy Erekson most recently served as story artist on Sony Pictures Animation’s monstrous comedy smash hit, HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA as well as the 2013 feature film, THE SMURFS 2.
Previously, Erekson was a story artist for the short film THE SMURFS: A CHRISTMAS CAROL as well as the worldwide theatrical hit, THE SMURFS. Erekson began his career at LAIKA Entertainment as a visual development artist and shortly thereafter began working in story on JACK AND BEN and THE MOUSE THAT SOARED. He is currently at DreamWorks Animation working on HAPPY SMEKDAY!
Erekson is a graduate of Brigham Young University and holds a degree in Illustration.
