Sylvain DeBoissy Character Designer
Born near Paris in 1967, Sylvain Deboissy is a graduate of the prestigious Les Gobelins animation school. He worked for Disney animation studio in Paris from 1989 to 1995 as an animator.
He then collaborated with Bibo films from 1995 to 1998 as animation supervisor, studio storyboard artist and director.In 1998 he moved to the USA where he began a collaboration with the DreamWorks studio as a character designer and animation supervisor (the animation supervisor is a leader in charge of a team of animators. Ensures artistic consistency of plans, sequences or characters which it is responsible), and storyboard artist (storyboard scenario is a representation of a sequence of comic images corresponding to the cutting plane by plane. Sylvain Deboissy recently worked as an artist freelance for Blue Sky Studios and ReelFX. He draws his inspiration from European designers like André Franquin, but also with his classmates and fellow animators.
Recently he decided to focus on more personal projects and began making his short film animation 2D Like a sunday afternoon with the French production company tigoboANIMATION. Sustained for writing the Poitou-Charentes region and the General Council of Charente project. Moreover, a draft animated series young people entitled to Pat Pat is pregnant, still in tigoboANIMATION studios, the original idea and visual creation are Sylvain Deboissy and stories of Christian Armanet. Pat Pat is also an illustrated children’s book, published by tigoboEDITION.
