“WRESTLING THE ABC’s”
“Wrestling the ABC’s,” a fun, rhyming book on the sport of amateur wrestling, represents the first foray into Children’s Book illustration for veteran animation artist Robert Lence. Robert has worked at Disney, Pixar, and Dreamworks, as a story artist and writer. His credits include such all-time hit films as “Beauty and the Beast,” “Toy Story,” “A Bug’s Life,” and “Shrek.” Robert served as co-Head of Story on Pixar’s “Toy Story.” Robert is a graduate of the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, where he met and befriended the book’s author, Tom Davids. Robert and Tom were teammates on the University of Michigan wrestling team, and wrestled each other every day in practice. Tom, a youth wrestling coach, authored the book with his wife Veronica. It is one of the few (if not only!) children’s books on the subject of amateur wrestling. It features a foreword by legendary wrestler Dan Gable. Robert will be signing copies of the book, and offering original artwork from the book for sale.
